North American B-25D Mitchell medium bomber - "The Falcons"
498th Squadron, 345th BG, # 226, Luzon 1945

The 345th was the famous (or infamous) "Air Apaches" -- well known for pioneering the use of the sturdy Mitchell bomber as an anti-shipping weapon in the Southwest Pacific. These aircraft were armed with ten (or more) heavy machine guns and cannon, firing straight ahead, in addition to the usual gun turrets.
